WHAT'S GONE - DECEMBER 2025
December was a wonderfully festive and busy month for Companions, full of great company, music and memorable moments.
On 7th December, 24 members enjoyed a Rat Pack Swinging Christmas at Benidorm Palace — a fun-filled evening of fantastic music and festive cheer. Many thanks to Ros for organising such a great night out.
Our Turkey & Tinsel meal on 9th December at Almafra, organised by Barbara for Companions, brought 57 members together for excellent food, a lively atmosphere and plenty of dancing once Danny got us all on our feet. A really joyful afternoon.
On 13th December, 40 Companions travelled to Alicante for a magical candlelit concert featuring ABBA vs Queen classics, followed by a tour of the city’s beautiful Christmas lights before heading home. Thanks again to Ros for another superb trip.
We rounded off the year at our final meeting on 16th December with mince pies, cava and the presentation of The BIG Christmas Raffle, which raised an incredible €2,720 for the Alfaz del Pi Food Bank. Despite awful weather, 95 members attended, joined by Town Hall and Food Bank representatives, with Santa and Mrs Claus popping in to deliver prizes and Christmas cheer. A fantastic result from a simple idea — and now the challenge is how to beat it next year! And The Town Hall gave us a splendid review Alfaz News
Congratulations to Michelle from Finestrat, winner of the woodpecker, now named Flicker.

Come along for more than a stroll but less than a hike, dogs welcome. We will start by walking the foothills of the Sierra Helada between Albir and Benidorm. Easy walking, no real climbing, but good footwear essential. Meet at the Municipal Car Park at 9:30am - walk no longer than 1 hour. Optional coffee afterwards. Car share can be arranged. Let Wendy know if you want to join in.

Tapas and Wine Gastronomic Experience including a guided tour of the winery, with tasting and canapes. Coach leaves Albir at 9.45am for wine tasting. Followed by FREE TIME in Santa Pola until 4.45pm for coach return.

Visit Teruel and Cuenca, staying at 4* hotels close to the old towns, on half board basis. €395 pp sharing a twin room, €495 single room. This Mini Break includes 2 boat trips : St Josef caves and a cruise along the Júcar river at Cofrentes.
