APRIL, MAY AND SEPTEMBER 2026
Announcing We’ve been listening… and making a few changes!
You told us what works (and what doesn’t), so we’ve given What’s On a fresh new look already. The upcoming events now come first, with What’s Gone and regular events neatly moved to the end—quicker, clearer, and easier to find what you’re looking for. Let us know what you think… and if you love it, tell your friends too!
We’re also delighted to welcome Karl to the Management Team. He’ll be joining meetings as a guest for now, bringing fresh ideas, experience, and—of course—the voice of reason!
We do still need a little help from you…
- Andy is looking for a Deputy Treasurer as he will be relinquishing the Treasurer role at the next AGM, after doing 4 years as Treasurer and moving the Club to a registered Asociacion and all the benefits that provides to the members (with help from the other committee members).
- We’re also searching for someone to help organise our popular days out and mini-breaks (even just one would make a big difference!)
Without volunteers, some of these much-loved events may not continue—so if you can lend a hand, please get in touch.
A big thank you to everyone who completed the survey—we’re reviewing your feedback and will share the highlights soon.
WHAT'S ONDon't forget to click the icons on the left of each event, for more information.

WHAT’S GONE – MARCH HIGHLIGHTSMarch was full of great company, laughter, and a few unexpected adventures…
Our Boys Night Out saw another fantastic turnout—don’t forget it’s on the first Monday of each month, just let Dave know if you’re joining.
The Bodegas Faelo & Santa Pola trip turned into something truly special. An almost full coach and what started as a simple wine tasting became a feast of delicious food, five wines, and no need for lunch at all! Then, in true Companions style, a spontaneous trip to Tabarca Island for some topped off what many are calling our best day out yet. Huge thanks to Ros for organising such a memorable experience—now we just need someone to step into her shoes from Autumn onwards!
At the Annual General Meeting, the President, Treasurer, and Vocale were all re-elected, the Foodbank remains our chosen charity for 2026, and membership was agreed at €20 per year (just 50c per meeting) Thank you to everyone who attended and helped us start promptly.
Our Tuesday Lunch Clubs continue to thrive, with great turnouts at Sunrise and The Live Lounge (23 diners!). Remember, we cap numbers at 24—so book early to avoid missing out.
La Cena Del Mes at Bricklane may have been a smaller group, but it was big on laughs, stories, and shared memories. Sometimes smaller really is better!
Sunday lunches gave us mixed experiences—Champions was cosy but excellent, while Almafra… perhaps one to skip in future. Next stop: The Live Lounge—and we’re feeling very optimistic about that one!
We were also lucky to welcome Jenny Wensing from Age in Spain, whose insightful talk opened our eyes to the incredible support available—from tackling loneliness to practical help with life in Spain. A truly valuable and inspiring session.
If you missed out this time, you were missed—but don’t let the next one pass you by. There’s always a warm welcome, great company, and plenty more memories waiting to be made.
Here’s to another fantastic month ahead!
