included the September program for you to look forward to.

🍽️ Tuesday 5th May - Lunch club at Sunrise Restaurant 1pm
Menu del Dia at €16 – choose your menu at the restaurant.
12 already booked, but pay Christine by 12 noon on the 5th, if you still want to join

🚌 6th to 9th May -
Companions Mini Break.
Coach leaves 8:10am from The Comm and 8:30 from the Municipal Car
Park in Albir. Please email Yolanda info@vitality-travel.com with
preferred pick up point. Don't forget to bring your passport
and/or ID (you will need it at check-in) and your SIP or other
health card (hope you won't need it). And a tip❗travel
light as the coach can't get into the centre of the old town so
there is a short walk with your bags. .

Come along to the Sports Centre in Alfaz del Pi for a fun, friendly
afternoon celebrating World Paella Day! We’re entering again and need
helpers to cook, cheer and of course taste the amazing dishes.
🎟️ We have 10 FREE early-entry tickets for participants at 12 noon
(public entry from 2pm).
Expect great food, a huge shared paella, music, and even a bit of
dancing with our lively Hispanic friends (who usually win! 💃).

cook our own "Special" English version.

jointly by FUNdraisers and Benidorm International Friendship Club.

🎉 Thursday 14th May Charity Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show at The Comm (in
collaboration with the Alfas Food Bank). Get your tickets at the
meetings or from Donna at the Foodbank 660 255 391. Why not
book a table for you and your friends? Companions will be
sponsoring the event with a Pop Up one time only, Pimm's No 1 stand.
Enjoy this traditional English cocktail. Think Henley Regatta,
Wimbledon, Royal Ascot or just balmy summer afternoons in England.

meal at the Dong Jing Asian Restaurant (meals from 9.50€ with 1/2
bottle of wine - choose and pay on the day). 5€ per person to enter.
Cash prize for the winning team.
Teams of 4 to 6 maximum. Register with Barbara and choose a team
name. Starts from 11am with 10 minute intervals. Meeting at the TAPS
cafe bar behind Dong Jing next to the main car park where you will get

Alcazares
If you've been wondering about the proposed trip to Roses, unfortunately due to logistical reasons we're unable to go ahead at this time. However rather than disappoint, we're delighted to offer this fantastic alternative getaway!
We'll be returning to the
beautiful resort of Los Alcázares, staying at the ever-popular Costa
Narejos Hotel (4 🌟). This is the perfect base to explore places we
can't usually reach, with planned visits to Lorca and/or Cartegena,
plus a possible stop in Murcia on the way home.
Included: ✨ Half-board, 🚌 At least one day trip, 🚍 Return transport from Albir.
All this for an expected price of around 200€ per person - single
supplement extra. Incredible value for a packed mini break! Secure your place now with a 50€ deposit (fully refundable if the final price

for our second big evening party of the year and another chance to get

Winter Wonderland of decorations. We will be having a cava reception

WHAT’S GONE – APRIL HIGHLIGHTS
If you weren’t there… you really missed some special events.
The month kicked off with the regular Boy's night out where six met at the Hong Kong in Albir. A great night of chat and laughter. Don't forget to book with Dave Pryor, come and join in with the next one.
Tuesday Lunch Club at Godoys brought 14 members together to enjoy lunch at this ever popular restaurant. A great afternoon and we were looked after by Raul and his family once again. Tuesday lunches are alternate weeks, see Christine to book.
La Cena del Mes at Palmen
Only eight lucky diners made it to this intimate evening—and what a
shame for everyone else. Whether it was the 35€ price tag or a certain
milestone 80th birthday the following day, numbers were low… but the
experience was anything but.
Those who came were treated to an exceptional three-course feast that
more than justified every euro. The atmosphere? Warm, relaxed, and full
of laughter. The verdict? Absolutely worth it—and definitely one we’ll
be repeating… perhaps for another special occasion.
Thanks to Joanne for organising this gastronomic delight for us.

Companions Coach Trip to Cullera & El Palmar
A full coach, a full day and a whole lot of memories made.
We swapped motorway service stations for a charming coffee stop in Cullera - and what a difference that made. Some even squeezed in a visit to the fascinating Fallas Museum. Cullera, a hidden gem full of local culture.
The town was buzzing with excitement as children gathered for their
special (and completely safe!) bull-running event—such a joy to witness
their anticipation and smiles.
Then on to the picturesque village of
El Palmar, nestled beside the stunning
L'Albufera Natural Park. Here, 30 of us enjoyed a peaceful, scenic boat trip across the
lake—one of those moments you wish you could bottle.
A traditional Spanish meal rounded off the day perfectly, followed by a
leisurely stroll (to ease the guilt!) before heading home.
Another brilliantly organised day by Ros—and once again, the weather
couldn’t have been kinder.
Tuesday Lunch club at Hereford Grill. We had 15 diners attend our first visit to this restaurant. We all had a very enjoyable afternoon, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of wine, conversation and good
food, and many said they wouldcome back again.
We finished off the month (well actually it was already May) with a
fantastic lunch at the Live Lounge. We were only allocated 18
places for this sold out event and we filled them admirably.
Fantastic food, company and to round it off we were entertained by
the fabulous Mark Ellis (Ruby Rox) as himself. What a great
afternoon, we'll have to go back to the Live Lounge
soon.
